It’s been awhile since I last shredded copious amounts cardboard! So in the tradition of all good First Person Shooters I got locked and loaded, took a few deep breaths before I contemplated taking on a few dummies and more. Advance Combat Training, Running Man!

This is the next slice in Zero Point Software’s forthcoming science fiction spectacular Interstellar Marines. So what do we think of this new slice? It’s fun, vast amounts of fun… even if I still can’t get used to playing with a mouse and keyboard. The dark side of gaming, the console has really taken its toll on my reflexes and playing preferences as a big fat juicy Xbox controller gripped feverishly in both hands seems vastly lacking.

Again it’s the ambience that first gets you, especially ” ITO AI SARA”; Terri “SHODAN” Brosius monolithic tones resonate brilliantly as do the gun sounds, both are frighteningly deep and meaningful, the clicking, the clunking of a hasty reload. The echoing of booted footsteps upon almost surgically clean corridors and grey suffused hangers as you dodge the robots, the yellow ones, the cyan ones!
