So as E3 2011 gets ever closer the internet rumour mill has being working vast amounts of overtime. What have Nintendo created? Project Cafe is a codename being used amply in one blog and another forum alike, the Wikipedia page refers to Nintendo’s next console as the Wii 2, the Wii HD, the Nintendo Stream and the Nintendo Feel, many rumours and many questions are just itching to be answered.
It’s processor? Possibly a custom IBM tri core processor. It’s graphics card? Something from the R700 family, which could be anything from ATI’s Radeon HD 4300 entry level GPU, to a once high end Radeon HD 4800 X2. It’s memory? God knows..? At least 512 megabytes is being fuelled quite rampantly as well as it’s storage capacity, 8 gigabytes of flash memory, instead of a mechanical hardrive. It’s a lot of it’s! And a lot of wild speculation, but that’s what the internet, the world web web is good at, speculating.
I would ask two it’s. Will it have a rock solid online system, that does away with friend codes, an online system that will be expanded on and bettered year in year out. Something akin to Microsoft’s Xbox Live but less of the Americanism, and more regional gaming, where gamers can chat and play games with people from their region, and less of the overly loud 11 – 13 year old First Person Shooter pubescent kids ruining peoples gaming experience.
If people want to game further afield, give them the option to play on different servers, let them know what part of the world they are connected too, and let them know how good or bad their ping rate is. It might seem petty and insignificant to some, but a crap ping rate can mean life or death in a round of COD and Battlefield.
Secondly, it should be that Nintendo should listen to the people that built the Nintendo brand, the customers! The old customers, the customer from yesteryear, not these “new” I got a Wii for my birthday and have played Just Dance and stepped on a “fat” board once or twice. You have some great games, but you really need something new!
You can’t keep flogging a dead horse. Nintendo you need to ditch the complete Nintendo mums attitude, and get some powerhouse third “party” developers on board, I hate saying the word “party” now a days. You need some action packed games, with post release support.
If this new console is more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, then with all the power and creativity that we gamers know you have, get creating, get DICE, get EA, get Crytek, get THQ, get Activision to up the ante and bring some of the their bests to your shores.
Saving...
