Call me cynical and pessimistic but don’t you just get the feeling Nintendo are releasing Super Mario Galaxy 2 just before E3 for one purpose only? Too shield themselves against another E3 failure! Their 2008 keynote was complete utter trash and 2009 wasn’t much better in the way it was delivered or what was showcased, with the ever fake Cammie Dunaway sounding increasing more dull and unfortunately wooden by the minute and big Reggie Fils-Aime trying his hardest not to noob out on Wii Sports Resort too badly.
Give the higher echelons at Nintendo due credit they’ve shifted more hardware and software than you can shake a stick at. They’ve introduced millions of people to the world of gaming, both young and old… but at what cost, mainly quantity over quality? Gaming is a fierce lucrative business, Nintendo are a business, and their in this fierce lucrative business to make money, piles off it, and ultimately Nintendo mums are suckers for shovelware and shovelware is easy money, sadly!
So we get down to the nitty-gritty, E3, the biggest gaming exhibition on the planet only weeks away and my gut feeling tells me that Nintendo know they are lacking in “WOW!” department again More >
