Swarmites and dynamite!

Just the other night a fellow workmate (Judge Mick) and I got talking about computer and video games in general. Final Fantasy XIII and it’s whopping not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 DVD’s on the Xbox 360. Cutscenes say no more! Super Mario Bros. 3, ouch! It’s almost 20 years ago, where did time go? Batman: Arkham Asylum and a whole host of fantastic and not so fantastic games. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe being one.
We touched on subjects such as the Nintendo Wii and big Ninty’s refusal to deliver a much sought after high definition console and when will they develop Pokémon online? Pokémon online could probably rival World of Warcraft and that would seriously vex Bobby Kotick and Activision.
How much of a let down Super Mario Galaxy 2 was, is! Yoshi, a dumb green dinosaur, why implement Yoshi? No one likes Yoshi, in Super Smash Bros. Yoshi would be the last character you would ever pick! How impressive The Last Guardian trailer looks and the very day creativity died, 22, November 2005.
After a staggering 50 hour working week I was finally able to sit down and browse the world wide web, as it was a case of bed and work these last few weeks. Duke More >
Controversy!

Controversy and computer and video gaming seem to go hand in hand these days! Rockstar Games are no stranger to controversy, in fact you could pretty much say wholeheartedly that Rockstar Games truly welcomes controversy, it just adds more meat to the advertising campaign and once a media conglomerate or a politician wanting to hit the big time gets involved well it’s simply gravy all the way!
But it’s not the next instalment of Grand Theft Auto that’s causing a media @*! storm this time round, it’s the reboot of Electronic Arts Medal of Honor franchise and the ability to play as a Taliban soldier, a militant that gets the opportunity to shoot the hell out of American soldiers on and offline.
This has caused a certain politician Mr Liam Fox to speak his mind. I have no problem with this, after all everyone is entitled to their opinions that’s the beauty of free speech and the free nation which we apparently live in. Independent Blogs and official forums have exploded into heated debates that border on anarchy, but lets not forget one thing which seems to get lost in these somewhat wacky debates. Some games are simply made for adults, and More >

World of Warcraft, I’m not going to try and tell you what it’s all about because I don’t rightly know and to be totally honest I’ve read some of the Wikipedia entry and don’t want ferociously correcting by an overzealous fan that happens to have six characters on the go, one which happens to be a level 80 Warlock if I misquote something small and virtually insignificant.
What I do I know is that World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role playing game that involves various races; it has some epic spells and some almighty sword fighting that sees a whole lot of in game character’s being maimed or killed outright and that can cost a whole lot of gold? I know a whole lot of people play it and it makes tons of money, month in, month out! It’s a proper cash cow, if you pardon the phrase.
I tried the 10 day trial which was recommended to me by a work colleague some years back and whose recent words of wisdom encouraged me to write this particular article about World of Warcraft email spamming.
For some time now the both of us have been getting various fake emails regarding More >
Violating my base!

Base raping! It’s a massive and very frustrating problem with Battlefield Bad Company 2, especially playing conquest and a map that I have particularly come to hate with a passion, Laguna Alta! If all the flags are in the enemies possession, then there’s only two words for it, your extremely @*!
It doesn’t matter what side your on, once the all the neutral bases are taken you can quickly find yourself pinned in because both main bases are nothing but poorly designed bottlenecks and every base raping whore will swoop down and participate in a mass turkey shoot! So you either, keep re-spawning and hope for the best or quit the game, which most do.
And why the +50 +10 head shot point accumulation in a main base? There should be no score for main base raping! Like in Battlefield 2, yes I’ve know I done it many times, back in my =B2K= clan days, but I would never use it to accumulate score and DICE, those Swedish legends shouldn’t allow it either. Hell I use to do it at the start of the game, on my own, like an action man! A hero, well that’s my excuse, like it or loath More >

It seems like an eternity since Codemasters, one of Great Britain’s oldest computer and video game developers first revealed Colin McRae’s Dirt at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo. And what seems like an eternity and then some is when the former World Rally Champion and much missed legendary Scotsman had his Subaru Impreza featured on the cover of his first self titled “Rally” game way back in the cold winter months of a Great British January in 1998.
The PC and PlayStation game not only spawned four sequels across various platforms but resulted in the Guinness World Records awarding the series six world records in the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition of 2008.
Since then Codemasters have push the driving genre boundaries to an unparalleled excellence, Dirt, Grid and F1: 2010 they are truly race kings addicted to speed and strife, taking what was essentially the elements of Sony’s own proprietary Phyre engine they built engine technology that was once known as Neon, but is now known as Ego. If you look up the word ego up in any reputable dictionary such as the Oxford English dictionary or a nifty Windows based program called Word Web I once discovered whilst browsing the world wide web, the first thing that strikes you is the definition.
